Local Scholarship
One of the ways that the Atlanta Chapter consistently supports the College is by awarding scholarships to Metropolitan Atlanta students. Since launching the Annual Scholarship Brunch in 1977, the Atlanta Chapter has awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships to thirty (30) students. Of this number, nine received four-year scholarships.
The student need for scholarship funds has grown significantly over the years. In 1977, the tuition cost for one year was $1,800; for the current year (2022-2023), the cost of tuition and fees exceeds $22,275 (per semester). The Chapter is committed to supporting Spelman students and will continue to provide scholarships to deserving young women who have made “a choice to change the world.”
