Annual Chapter Awards

Every year our highest honors and awards are presented at the Atlanta Annual Scholarship Fundraiser. Fellow alumnae nominate the award recipients. In addition to the following awards, the bylaws allow the Chapter President to grant the True Blue award for extraordinary achievement.

Award Categories

Distinguished Alumna Award

This award is presented to an alumna currently involved in outstanding and effective work that positively impacts a broad sector of the metropolitan Atlanta population.

Outstanding Community Service Award

This award is presented to an Atlantan who demonstrates outstanding dedication to work, which improves the quality of life for metropolitan Atlanta citizens. Priority consideration will be given to one whose community work has involved and/or benefited Spelman College, the students, and/or the Alumnae Association.

Trailblazer Award

This award is presented to an outstanding local, national, or international citizen that is recognized as one who has paved the way for others and is a known pioneer and innovator or to one who has demonstrated leadership, made significant and impacting contributions in their area of expertise

True Blue Award

The True Blue Award honors an outstanding person whose work specifically impacts and improves the Spelman College community. The awardee is selected by the Chapter president to celebrate exemplary work in this area.
